Newsletter Widget and Manage Newsletter Subscriptions page

You can create Newsletter Subscription Widgets for any newsletter you want to promote.

1. MailJet Configuration

If you want to establish and promote a new newsletter, e.g. for a specific solution, you must have a contact list created in MailJet.

  1. Log in to you MailJet account

  2. In the menu “Contacts”, please select “Contact lists”

  3. Click “Create a contact list”

  4. Provide a name for the contact list

Please follow the internal naming policy: WEB | Topic | local subaccount

Examples: WEB | Water | SE; WEB | Industries | DE

This is the organizational name for Contentstack.

  1. Select “empty list”

  2. Save

  3. Remember this name for the use in the newsletter subscription widget.

  4. Remember the ID to get the newletter created in Contentstack. (see chapter 2. Contentstack configuration)

Note: The process has changed with the new “Manage Newsletter Subscription page”.

 

If you want to guide users to the “Manage Newsletter Subscription page”, please use the template Template Footer-Manage Newsletter Subscriptions”.

Do not copy the footer into another template. If you put it at the wrong place, Mailjet would still take it’s default one in addition.

Do not change the links in that footer.

In Mailjet you will find two different Footer templates.

  1. Unsubscribe” from this newsletter

    1. If you don’t add it to your newsletter, Mailjet will send its default “unsubcribe” footer because it is legally binding.

  1. Manage Newsletter Subscriptions

    1. To be used if you offer more than one (general) newsletter.

    2. Use this template to guide users to our website and

    3. Prevent users from unsubscribing There may be specific newsletters a subscriber would like to get instead.

3. Create a Newsletter Subscription Widget for a specific newsletter

Before you embed a widget into a content block, you will have to create it. The widget will be a CTA button following the FA website guidelines

  1. In Contentstack, select the Content Type “Newsletter Subscription Widget” (1: Create a Web Page → Content Options → Newsletter Subscription Widget).

  2. Click “+ New Entry” and edit the settings and texts for the subscription widget

  3. Select the Newsletter “Existing entry” after it had been created by the Support team (see no. 2 above and FAQ).You can open the widget in the page or as a modal. “Use modal” is activated as default.

  4. Provide a “Modal CTA title” . This is the CTA button text, which would also appear at the top of the modal,

  5. “Modal CTA Subtitle” would appear in the Modal only.

 



  1. Save and publish the Newsletter Subscription Widget.

  2. In Contentstack, go to the content block where you want to add the subscription widget and select “Newsletter Subscription Widget”.

 

4. Manage Newsletter Subscriptions page

The “Manage Newsletter Subscription” page has been implemented into all local websites. After users subscribed to any newsletter, they will be linked to that page when they confirm the subscription using the “double opt-in” link.

If you don’t want to promote any specific newsletters, there is no action required from your side.
