All website contact forms offer three options to fulfill central and local GDPR and legal requirements.
1: Central GDPR
The central checkbox links to MEU’s privacy policy on the respective local website (in its local version). All website users need to accept that before they can submit the form
The central checkbox is required for all website contact forms and thus added to each form as default.
💡 To localize the text, got to 2: Create a Contact Form - Contact Form Settings - GDPR.
2: Local GDPR (additional)
If you require additional local GDPR confirmations which are applicable for all local website forms, will be handled as “Local confirmations” in 2: Create a Contact Form - Contact Form Settings - GDPR. They will added to the default setting as described in 1:
💡 In order to localize / adapt them to your local needs, go to 2: Create a Contact Form - Contact Form, Settings - GDPR, Scroll down to Local confirmations, Open the “Instance(s)”
3: Local GDPR for dedicated purposes
Some website contact forms may require additional local GDPR or privacy notification or acceptance for dedicated purposes, e.g. if you invite to an event you manage together with a third party.
💡 In order to add such specific local GDPRs to a contact form, you will need to make two steps (and not start from “Contact form setting GDPR”, but from 2: Create a Contact Form - Contact form Settings - Additional Local GDPR.
Step 1: Create the specific local GDPR
Go to 2: Create a Contact Form - Contact form Settings - Additional Local GDPR.
Create a “New Entry”
Choose an Internal Name which makes it easy for you to identify it, e.g. Third Party XYZ
Add a group entry to “Local confirmations”
Save and Publish
Step 2: Reference “Additional local GDPR” to your respective contact form
Go to your form and here
Scroll down to item 1.1: Additional local GDPR
Choose the existing entry you created in Step 1
Continue with the maintenance of the rest of the form
Save and Publish
